The findings showed an increased risk of the onset of Type 2 diabetes in the patients taking the drugs. Although findings for all three drugs showed a strong correlation with the increased risk, the results relating Seroquel® with diabetes were downplayed due to the smaller sample size of Seroquel® trial patients.

One of the most common Seroquel® side effects is marked drowsiness. The sedative quality is so prevalent that some physicians have prescribed Seroquel® to combat sleep disorders.
